Once a year highly energetic, cutting edge designers and artists migrate to the big apple for the International Contemporary Furniture Fair.  With much anticipation and excitement in discovering the latest looks in the design world, it’s always inspiring to see what’s trending! This year, as seen through my lens, was all about patterned wall coverings and exquisite lighting.  There were enough playful patterns, colors, textures, depth and illusions that seriously played with your mind! In speaking with the artists from Flavor Paper,  the possibilities are endless. Any picture you want, whether it be animal print, a flower, brick, concrete or even the teardrop wall, they can print. (Definitely check out Flavor Paper’s site – it’s one you can get lost in) Aimee Wilder was another design firm we found that explored and played not only with patterned wall coverings but also pillows and screen-prints.

(yes…this is wall paper meant to illustrate the look of aged tin ceiling tiles-fabulous, I know!)

Lighting was also very prevalent this year. Every which way you turned you were bound to discover fabulous fixtures! Some of our favorites included, as always, Graypants Studio, Apparatus Studio,  Design Stockholm House, and Lindsey Adelman Studio.

If you weren’t able to make it to this years show, definitely mark your calendar for next year! It’s a show you can’t miss!
