Art in the Yard

Photographers find beauty in things the rest of us just don’t see. Their craft is to hone in on overlooked details, to coax out shadows and plays of light. Perhaps it’s the focus they achieve by looking through their lens; everything outside becomes blurred and insignificant.
Our wonderful photographer, Todd Wright, spent a day on our Richmond yard and created art out of sights we often take for granted – the contrast of smooth, sleek stone against a weathered band, the sculptural effect of flagstone standing on end, lowlights of shadows under a pile of stacked stone. I just love these images; they remind me that beauty is right in front of us, in the ordinary landscape we are immersed in every day.

Love this post!! Todd is so talented. I would frame any of those images and hang them in my home. They are all so unique in texture, shape and color.
