We stumbled upon an exquisite chocolate store while window shopping in SoHo last week. Xocolatti – a tiny little store that is impeccably and charmingly appointed. Three of the walls are filled with hundreds of their beautiful boxes with displays of their handmade creations interspersed throughout. And much to our delight, they also used Belgian Bluestone as their retail counter.
The chocolates (and clusters, truffles, slates, crumbles, and sparks) are beautifully executed. Literal eye candy and the distinctive flavors are so subtle and nuanced it makes savoring each piece a joyful discovery for your taste buds.
I’m a huge sucker for attention to detail and “the little things” and the owners of Xocolatti don’t disappoint. Their packaging is lovely and each selection comes with a beautiful card that describes the flavor of the individual piece. The place is perfection – and even more amazing when you learn the owner is just 24 years old. The only disappointment – you need to be in SoHo to experience these chocolate masterpieces.
