Rooftop Gardens in the Big Apple
Categories: Inspiration, Things We Love, Trend Watch
Being the most expensive city in the United States, it’s only fitting that the Big Apple is known for its plush, luxurious rooftop gardens. Organic exteriors calm our souls with surrounding greenery, vegetation, subtle annuals and daybeds with lush, delicate pillows encourage us to take a breather, read a novel, experience the optimal sunset and revitalize the spirit. For even just a moment at the end of the day, one could escape the honking horns, commotion and bustle from Park Ave below and unwind with Mother Nature herself.
As more and more people migrate to urban spaces, the desire to incorporate natural elements into the harsh manmade landscape grows stronger, and designing a garden escape is the perfect way to stay connected with nature. Read more about how urban migration is changing our design vocabulary in our Macro View addendum to Perspectives, Charles Luck’s annual design and architecture forecast.

Gorgeous! I’d take any of those gardens in my backyard. It’s amazing to see them on rooftops in New York City.
